Chris said... We rented two bikes for half a day. Our bikes were waiting for us. They were in good order and easy to ride for people who only ride bikes on holidays. We accepted a recommendation from the friendly member of staff to ride up to Beacon Point, along the Clutha River, stop at a well-known cafe and back into town. We also went out to the tree. This took about 3 hours. The terrain was mostly flat, quiet and the views were fabulous. The only challenging part was the narrow path along the river. This had a drop into water and two-way traffic. We walked a couple of short stretches just to be safe. Overall, we had a good experience and would do it again.
