Brian Sorge said... We left from Te Anau on time - but the day was a bit overcast. However, just a short time after that, the sun started burning through, and EVERYTHING came to life. (In case anyone was wondering, God really does answer prayer - even about little things.)
The bus driver spoke with a strong Kiwi accent, so we Americans didn't catch everything he said; but he obviously knew the winding route like the back of his hand. We had a couple of great stops - one to see the intelligent and beautiful Kea Parrots - on the way, and we saw beautiful snow melting into more waterfalls than I could count along the way.
The boat travel through Milford (Fjord) Sound was fabulous as it had snowed on top of the mountains the day or night before. There were waterfalls entering the fjord every 60 meters, I would guess. We saw seals and penguins who swam along like porpoises.
Oh yes, the buffet on the boat was scrumptious! I have *SO* many photos to process and sort... :)
